Happy 29th Anniversary!
P.S I have the greatest parents ever!
Well...today is 1/11 so I figured I'd update the bloggeroni on my lucky events since 11/11. Well, it was true, something very cool happened on 11/11. That afternoon my friend from work, Kim (who just so happens to be Ms. Wheelchair Utah), called to tell me she won tickets to go see Mieko and Inka at the radio station and she invited me to go along. We got to listen and watch them play live on the radio. It was very cool, something I've never done before. I did take pictures to prove it but can't find my camera...lame.
Today is my special lucky day. I have a thing for the number 11. There was a time when I swore I accidentally looked at the clock at 11:11 everyday. I, of course, had to make a wish every time it happened. I just know something amazing, spectacular and completely awesome will happen today. I'll let you know tomorrow what it was.
More bliss:
"Welcome to Burger King where we do it your way...but don't get crazy."
"Gurl! I will CUT you."
"SeKURity, SeKURity."
"Oh...is that what you had said?"
I hit the mother load! I stumbled across this blog the other day and completely lost track of time. I really, really love the internet! I love that it brings all different kinds of places, people, art, culture and random facts right to my finger tips. I love you, Internet!
I work at the Disability Law Center and today we celebrated their 30th anniversary at the Law & Justice Center. We partied with hoity toity attorneys from Washington DC, local politicians and some really great people from the community. We honored some really special people who have dedicated their lives to helping others. The event went on without a hitch and all of our hardwork really paid off. I'm glad I'm associated with such an awesome group of people! This is a short video that we showed tonight.
Lisa, Jamie and I stopped off at Maverick last night to grab a little snack. We bee lined it to the frozen yogurt machine and we were uh...A LITTLE FRUSTRATED...when we found that the machine was out of order. But the conversation that followed made up for the lack of ice cream and made me giggle for about five minutes AND I of course had to blog about it.
Crotchety old man who works the late shift at Maverick: "The yogurt machine is out of order!!!"
Us: "Uh..MAN!
Crotchety old man: "HEY!!!...It takes awhile for it to get hard again."
Jamie (without missing a beat): "That's what she said."
This last Friday we went to the mountains to have a campfire to roast some mallows and dogs but discovered the campsites were closed. So, we ended up in my parents backyard instead. Some of these pictures, however, look like we pulled over on the side of the road somewhere in Kansas (notice the giant wheat grass).
